To disable features in WHM that can’t be overridden by another feature list, follow these steps:
Use your root or reseller credentials to access WHM (Web Host Manager).
In the WHM dashboard, search for "Feature Manager" or find it under "Packages".
If you already have a feature list you want to modify, select it from the list. If you need to create a new one, click "Add a New Feature List", name it, and click "Add".
Click "Edit" next to the feature list you want to modify.
In the feature list editor, uncheck the features you want to disable. These features will be disabled for any package or account that uses this feature list.
Remember, some features might not be able to be overridden by other feature lists if they are critical to the package’s functionality or if they are enforced at a higher level.
After adjusting the features, click "Save" to apply the changes to the feature list.
Default Features: Be aware that certain default features provided by WHM or cPanel might be critical and cannot be completely disabled.
Packages and Accounts: Ensure that any changes made to feature lists align with the packages and accounts that use them. Disabling critical features might affect the functionality of hosting services for your clients.
Testing: After making changes, it’s a good idea to test or review the affected accounts and packages to ensure that the changes have been applied correctly and that there are no unintended consequences.
By carefully managing feature lists and their settings, you can control which features are available to your hosting accounts and packages, helping to tailor the hosting environment to your specific needs.
Let’s talk about the future, and make it happen!
