Multi-Factor Authentication

Now provide an additional layer of security to prevent unauthorized users from accessing your cloud account

Enable security enhancement with Cyfuture Cloud multi-factor authentication (MFA). It requires you to present two pieces of evidence - your credentials - upon signing in. These credentials can be something you know such as your password, and something you have such as an application that generates a one-time passcode. MFA helps protect access to data and applications by adding an extra layer of security by validating user identities and providing quick and convenient access to authorized users.

How does Multi-Factor Authentication Work?

Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is a security process that requires more than one method of authentication from independent categories of credentials to verify the user's identity for a login or other transaction. MFA is designed to provide an additional layer of security to protect against unauthorized access to sensitive information, such as login credentials for a cloud service.

In a cloud environment, MFA can be implemented in various ways. Here are some examples:

  • One-time code: The user receives a one-time code via SMS or email that must be entered in addition to their username and password to log in.
  • Hardware token: The user is provided with a hardware token, such as a security key, that must be plugged in or tapped into their device to log in.
  • Biometric authentication: The user must provide a biometric identifier, such as a fingerprint or facial recognition, in addition to their login credentials.
  • App-based authentication: The user receives a notification on their smartphone or other devices that they must confirm in order to log in.

By requiring multiple methods of authentication, MFA makes it more difficult for attackers to gain unauthorized access to sensitive information, as they would need to have access to multiple authentication methods in order to pass the MFA process.
