Managing files on your hosting account is made easy with the use of a file manager interface when accessing Web Disk in cPanel. Here’s how to set it up:
Go to your domain followed by /cpanel (e.g., yourdomain.com/cpanel).
Enter your username and password.
In the cPanel dashboard, scroll down to the Files section.
Click on Web Disk.
Click on Create an Account.
Fill in the required fields:
Username: Choose a username for the Web Disk account.
Password: Set a strong password.
Directory: Specify the directory the Web Disk will access (or leave blank for the root directory).
Access Level: Choose either Read-Only or Read-Write access.
Click Create to set up the account.
Open File Explorer.
Right-click on This PC and select Add a network location.
Follow the wizard, entering the Web Disk URL (e.g., https://yourdomain.com:2078) and the username and password you created.
Open Finder.
Click on Go in the menu, then select Connect to Server.
Enter the Web Disk URL (e.g., https://yourdomain.com:2078), then click Connect.
Enter your username and password when prompted.
Once connected, you can manage files as you would with a local folder, dragging and dropping files, uploading, and deleting as needed.
Ensure that your firewall allows connections to the WebDisk port.
Keep your cPanel credentials secure to prevent unauthorized access.
That’s it! You should now be able to easily access and manage your Web Disk.
Let’s talk about the future, and make it happen!
