Adding sites to a WordPress Multisite network is straightforward.
Here’s how to do it:
Access Network Admin: Log in to your WordPress dashboard. Hover over "My Sites" in the top left corner and select "Network Admin" > "Dashboard."
Navigate to Sites: In the Network Admin dashboard, click on "Sites" in the left sidebar.
Add New Site: Click the "Add New" button at the top of the Sites page.
Site Address (URL): Enter the desired site address. For example, if your network domain is example.com, and you want to create a site called "test," you would enter test (resulting in test.example.com for subdomain setups or example.com/test for subdirectory setups).
Site Title: Enter a title for the new site.
Admin Email: Enter the email address of the site administrator. This can be an existing user or a new one (if you’re adding a new user, they’ll need to be created first).
You may see options to select additional settings like the theme or language, depending on your configuration. Adjust these as necessary.
Create Site: Click the "Add Site" button to create the new site.
Site Admin: After adding the site, you can manage it directly. You can navigate to the new site by clicking on "My Sites" > "View" next to the new site, or access it via the "Sites" list in Network Admin.
Customize Settings: From the new site's dashboard, you can customize themes, plugins, and other settings as needed.
If you entered a new admin email, the user will receive an email notification with details to log in.
User Management: You’ll need to add users to the new site if they aren’t already part of the network.
Plugins and Themes: Make sure that the wordpress plugins and themes you want to use are enabled for the new site.
That’s it! You’ve successfully added a new site to your WordPress Multisite network. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask!
