Managing hosting packages in WHM (Web Host Manager) is an important task for web hosts and administrators who oversee multiple cPanel accounts. Here's a guide to help you manage hosting packages within WHM:
Access WHM by visiting http://yourdomain.com:2087 or https://yourserverIP:2087.
Enter your root or reseller credentials to log in.
Once logged in, look for the Packages section in the left-hand menu.
Under this, you’ll find several options, including:
Add a Package
Edit a Package
Delete a Package
Go to Add a Package to create a new hosting package.
You will be prompted to fill in details such as:
Package Name: A unique identifier for the package.
Disk Quota (MB): Set the amount of disk space allocated.
Monthly Bandwidth (MB): Assign the bandwidth limits.
Max FTP Accounts, Email Accounts, Databases, etc.: Define the limits for other resources.
Feature List: Choose the features available to the users under this package (email, databases, etc.).
Dedicated IP: Choose whether users on this package will have a dedicated IP.
Once done, click Add.
If you need to modify an existing package, navigate to Edit a Package.
Select the package you want to modify from the list.
You can change parameters such as disk space, bandwidth, and account limits.
After making the necessary changes, click Save Changes.
Go to Delete a Package if you want to remove an unused or old package.
Select the package you wish to delete from the list.
Confirm the deletion, but remember that accounts already using the package will not be affected by the deletion of the package itself.
To assign or change a package for a cPanel account:
Go to List Accounts from the left-hand menu.
Locate the account and click on the + symbol next to the domain.
Click Change Plan and select the appropriate package from the dropdown menu.
Click Change to apply the new package.
Under Packages, you can manage Feature Manager to define which features are available for different hosting packages (email, file manager, SSL, etc.).
Create custom feature lists to restrict or enable certain functionalities based on the hosting plan.
Regularly check the disk and bandwidth usage of each account to ensure that your server doesn’t exceed its allocated resources.
You can do this by visiting Account Information > Show Accounts Over Quota or through individual account details in List Accounts.
By organizing packages in WHM, you can tailor hosting plans based on client needs, efficiently manage server resources, and ensure better performance for hosted websites.
Let’s talk about the future, and make it happen!
