Learn to Work with Feature Lists in WHM

Feature Lists in WHM allow you to customize and manage the features available to different hosting packages or accounts. Here’s a guide on how to work with feature lists in WHM:

Creating and Managing Feature Lists

  1. Login to WHM:

Access WHM (Web Host Manager) using your root or reseller credentials.

  1. Navigate to "Feature Manager":

In the WHM dashboard, search for "Feature Manager" or find it under "Packages". This is where you can create and manage feature lists.

  1. Create a New Feature List:

Click "Add a New Feature List".

Enter a name for the feature list in the "Feature List Name" field. This name helps you identify the list later.

Click "Add" to create the new feature list.

  1. Edit an Existing Feature List:

Find the feature list you want to edit from the list of existing feature lists.

Click "Edit" next to the feature list you wish to modify.

  1. Customize Features:

You will see a list of available features with checkboxes. Check or uncheck the features you want to enable or disable for this feature list. Features might include options like email accounts, disk space, subdomains, etc.

Customize the features according to your needs. For instance, if you want to allow more disk space or limit the number of databases, adjust the corresponding checkboxes.

  1. Save Changes:

After customizing the features, click "Save" to apply the changes to the feature list.

  1. Assign Feature Lists to Packages:

Go to "Edit a Package" under the "Packages" section in WHM.

Select the package you want to modify or create a new package.

In the package configuration, you will find an option to select a "Feature List". Choose the feature list you’ve created or edited.

Save the package configuration to apply the feature list to that package.

Applying Feature Lists

  1. Apply Feature Lists to Accounts:

When creating or editing hosting accounts, you can assign them to packages that have specific feature lists applied.

  1. Verify Feature Availability:

Ensure that the features available to accounts match the feature list assigned to their packages. You can test this by creating or editing accounts and checking the available features.

By using feature lists, you can efficiently manage and customize the features available to different hosting packages, allowing for greater flexibility and control over your hosting environment.
