How to Brand and Customize cPanel Accounts with WHM?

Branding and customizing cPanel accounts via WHM (Web Host Manager) allows you to create a personalized experience for your clients, making the cPanel interface consistent with your business branding. Below is a step-by-step guide on how to brand and customize cPanel accounts using WHM:

Step-by-Step Guide: Branding and Customizing cPanel Accounts with WHM

Step 1: Log in to WHM

1. Access WHM:

Open your web browser and navigate to your WHM login page. Typically, it is accessible at https://yourdomain.com:2087 or https://yourserverIP:2087.

2. Log in:

Enter your root or reseller username and password to log in.

Step 2: Access the cPanel Branding Section

1. Search for Branding:

In the WHM dashboard, type “Branding” into the search bar located on the left-hand side.

2. Navigate to cPanel Customization:

Click on “Customization” under the cPanel section. This will take you to the cPanel Customization interface where you can modify the branding for your users’ cPanel accounts.

Step 3: Customize the Branding of cPanel Accounts

Upload Your Company Logo:

In the Customization section, under the "Customize Branding" tab, you can upload a logo for your business.

Click on the Choose File button and select the image you want to use for your Company Logo.

Recommended size: 250x50 pixels for the logo.

Upload the Webmail Logo (optional):

You can also customize the Webmail Interface by uploading your logo under the Webmail Logo section.

Recommended size: 250x50 pixels.

Company Name and Links:

Enter your Company Name, which will be shown in the cPanel interface.

Provide URLs for the following links:

Documentation Link: If you have custom documentation for your clients.

Help Link: A URL for support or help resources.

Company URL: Your company’s homepage URL.

Step 4: Change cPanel Style

Select a Default Style for cPanel:

Under the "Customize Style" tab in the Customization section, you can choose the default cPanel style for your users.

cPanel offers several themes or “styles” such as Basic or Retro.

You can select the default style and allow users to choose their own style in their cPanel accounts.

Install Custom Themes (optional):

If you want to offer a unique style, you can create and install custom cPanel themes or download available themes and install them via WHM.

Step 5: Modify Notifications and Contact Information

Set Up Contact Information:

In the same Customization interface, provide an email address for users to contact your support team.

This email address will appear in various cPanel notifications.

Configure Notifications:

Modify the message templates and customize the notifications that users will receive (e.g., account creation, bandwidth overages).

Step 6: Customize the cPanel Footer

Modify Footer Text:

Under the "Global Header/Footer" tab in the Customization section, you can add custom text or links to the footer of the cPanel interface.

You can use this area for branding, important company links (e.g., Terms of Service), or support contact information.

Step 7: Enable Branding for Specific Packages

Assign Custom Branding to Hosting Packages:

In WHM, you can assign custom branding and styles to different cPanel packages. This allows you to provide premium branding for certain customers.

To do this, create or modify a hosting package in WHM and assign the customized branding or style to that package.

Step 8: Save and Apply Your Changes

Review Customizations:

After making all the necessary changes, review your customizations in the Preview section.

Apply Customizations:

Once satisfied, click Save to apply the changes. Your custom branding will now be visible to all users on their respective cPanel accounts.

Step 9: Test the Customized cPanel Interface

Log in to a cPanel Account:

Test your customization by logging into a cPanel account under your WHM control to see how the branding appears.

Verify the Branding:

Ensure that your company logo, colors, and any other changes you’ve made are displayed as expected.

Additional Customization Options

Custom Skins: You can create completely custom cPanel skins by using the cPanel Branding Editor for more advanced customization.
