In the complicated network simulated by server management, prototypes, including Apache, MySQL, and others, are the first line of defense and enable system functionality.
Nevertheless, even the best servers face routine periods when services need to be started, restarted, and stopped. Fortunately, DV (Dedicated Virtual) servers can be managed via control panels such as Plesk, which are designed to provide a simple interface for those crucial server activities.
Whether it concerns new configuration systems, solving problems caused by temporary malfunctions, or resolving a server crash, the toolset for manipulating services at the operating system level is not dispensable.
In this knowledge base section, we will walk you through the use of Plesk, which allows users to control the essential components that will enable operational systems to run smoothly and within the limits of failure. Let’s get started!
1. Log in as an administrator in Plesk.
2. Select the Tools and Settings option from the side menu.
3. Go to the Server Management section and click on Services Management.
4. All services sections will open on your DV server when you click on services management.
See the little icon buttons in front of the services? They represent the functions-
Start: Green-colored Play/arrow icon
Stop: Red-colored Stop/box icon
Restart: Yellow-colored Restart/replay icon
Key Note: If a button appears greyed out and unclickable, the corresponding function is inactive. Likewise, if all buttons are greyed out, it signifies that the service is either not activated or not installed on the server. |
